“Feathered Convergence”, 2005
This is my favorite of all the convergence quilts I made. Why? It is because of that Caryl Bryer Fallert border fabric. I LOVE the way the colors merge into one another.
I really enjoyed doing the quilting. Things were starting to “flow” a little better by this point in time, and custom quilting was getting to be a little less stressful. I really like the metallic thread used here.
“Hydrangea Convergence” - 2005
This was made from 4 fat quarters + a little extra yardage for the border and applique. The hydrangea blossom in the lower right corner was needle-turn appliqued after the borders were sewn on.
I took extra pains when cutting the square of hydrangea fabric so the corner would have something that would look well extended out into the border.
This one features fern vine quilting. This was the first time I had tried ferns. They really give a less formal appearance than feathers, and that is nice for a change.
QUILTING UPDATE: Only 2 more customer quilts to be done, and then the one that I need to do by Christmas Eve.
TOMORROW’S TEASER: Thursday will probably be a day for updating other happenings around here, and the quilt show will resume on Friday. But be sure to check in tomorrow… I have a special package that arrived in the mail yesterday, and I will share the surprise with you!
Blessings!
Kat...I do love your convergence quilts!
