Friendship Stars – 2006
This was a “pass-around” project involving 2 different quilt guilds. I put the fabric I wanted used in a box and each month it was passed to a different person who made me 2 blocks from my fabric. I did specify that I wanted star blocks and that I liked the ‘fussy cut” look. I also suggested they used paper pieced stars and included a book, but that was optional. Most people did do paper pieced stars using “fussy cut” to make them kaleidoscope.
LOVE that Jinny Beyer border fabric! Each block is quilted in a similar fashion but not identical.
Many of the blocks include feathers and each setting triangle also has a feather spray.
TOMORROW’S TEASER: Utility quilt… we’ve all got them, and I’m going to show them. Some are ordinary, and some are special. I’ll be sharing 3 utility quilts tomorrow.
Be blessed, and remember JESUS is the reason for this wonderful season!
How many people participated in this quilt? It is extraordinary, and I love the feathering. I think that is my favorite stitch besides the small one (not sure of the name) you showed us on the wholecloth. Can't wait to see the utility quilts!
ReplyDeleteHMM... I would have to go check, but I should have 24 different names. Good question!! I'll get back with you on that.
